Bremer Bay is a great location for whale watching. Each year, from July - October, Southern Right whales, and occassionally Humpback whales, are seen along the coastline. February and March bring Orcas to the Bremer Bay Canyon which is located 70km offshore from Bremer Bay. 

The calm waters in the many sheltered bays along the coastline act as the perfect nursery for Southern Right whales to give birth. Point Ann is one of the most popular spots for siting whales as there is a public viewing platform and this bay is one of the favourite nursery spots in Australia for the Southern Rights, with dozens of whales gathering together each year to calve.
