Plant Operator

Plant Operators are responsible for the operation of various plant for a range of construction and maintenance work. Heavy plant used includes front-end loader and backhoe, skid steers, six-wheel tip trucks, road train-side tippers, semi water cart, rollers and graders. Works Department positions also undertake manual labour tasks on a regular basis.

Applicant’s resumes should detail relevant construction experience, appropriate certificates and drivers licence classifications. A safety awareness training certificate and a basic worksite traffic management accreditation are also essential requirements of the role. Training may be available for these requirements for motivated applicants who can demonstrate the capacity to deliver long term value to the organisation and the ability to be a positive team member.

The salary for this position is in accordance with the Shire’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with regular overtime available for plant operator positions. The Shire also offers a competitive superannuation co-contribution scheme and can assist with staff housing.
