Level 5 Plant Operator

The Shire has an immediate opening for a Level 5 Plant Operator to join the Works team in providing a range of construction and maintenance services. To be successful in obtaining this position you will need experience in operating heavy plant machinery such as front-end loaders, backhoes, skid steers, six-wheel tip trucks, road train-side tippers, semi water carts, rollers and graders. Safety awareness training certificates and basic worksite traffic management accreditation are also desirable. Training may be available for motivated applicants who can demonstrate the capacity to deliver long term value to the organisation and the ability to be a positive team member.
The position salary will be determined dependent on experience with a minimum starting base rate of $30.80 an hour with overtime regularly available. The Shire also offers a competitive superannuation co-contribution scheme and can assist with staff housing.
It’s an essential requirement that the successful applicant is able to undertake manual labouring tasks in a safe manner. The applicant will need to undergo a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening prior to appointment.
