Club Development Officer

Did you know that we have a Club Development Officer visiting the Shire of Jerramungup every fortnight?

Sharon Miniter is based in Gnowangerup and visits the Shires of Jerramungup, Kent, Broomehill/Tambellup and Kojonup fortnightly.

What is the role of the Club Development Officer?

Sharon’s role encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  1. To provide ongoing support to sporting and recreation clubs throughout the Shire in a coordinated and focused manner.
  2. To assist local sporting and recreation clubs:
  • meet industry standards,
  • increase membership,
  • develop long term plans for the future,
  • introduce basic management systems, and
  • access funding and other support services.

Who pays for the work done by the Club Development Officer?

This position is funded through a Department of Sport and Recreation three-year grant.

What are the benefits of having a Club Development Officer?

Through this network clubs will have access to the latest information on sporting and club development events, training and development sessions, funding opportunities and a quarterly newsletter focusing on local issues. The network will also provide clubs with a link to similar organisations, local governments, state sporting associations, the Department of Sport and Recreation and other relevant sources.
